Skip Hewitt Welcome Fund
The Skip Hewitt Welcome Fund has been established in honor of the memory of Skip Hewitt, a long-standing member of the Men’s Breakfast, longtime volunteer, and survivor of multiple cancers. The primary purpose of the fund is to support CRC’s peer support groups and other programs that engage people with CRC on an on-going basis.
The Ángel Fund
The Ángel Fund was created by The Miguel Ángel Balsa’s family and many friends. Miguel was a beloved young man, scholar and teacher who died from colon cancer in December 2013. He was a long-time member of the CRC community who possessed a special kindness that allowed him to connect with others going through treatment. When we realized that Miguel’s middle name was Ángel, we knew that the Angel Fund was meant to be.
Tapan Mitra Community Access Fund
Tapan Mitra was a world-renowned economic theorist and professor at Cornell University who was supported by our volunteers and staff during his battle with cancer. This fund was established in his name thanks to his family and the Community Foundation to improve accessibility to treatment and resources for our clients.
